It's Winter. Cold winds and forecasts of snow are on the horizon. There's only one thing for it. You need to feed the fire and lock yourself in with a good supply of the kind of reds that would warm the heart of Genghis Kahn himself, and defrost an ice Queen or two.
In which case you'll be choosing this rather fine collection of Fireside reds to mull over on those cold winter nights. There's a top Rioja, a wonderful Cabernet, the kind of Shiraz that makes a grown man go all wobbly at the knees AND a stupendous Merlot, amongst others.
Plus, if you're one of our Angels, you'll save at LEAST 25%, adding to the general warm tingly feeling in your toes as you sip away.
Two of Chile's finest winemakers combined two of the country's most popular red grapes, Cabernet and Carmenere. This little beauty is a bona fide blockbuster.
It's packed with big, bold fruit that bursts out of the glass from your first sip to your last. Underneath there's a little bit of sweet dark chocolate that gives it a delicious, mouthwatering smoothness. It's like a fruit juice for grown ups!
More than 91% of our UK Angels said they'd buy it again - and we suspect Americans will like it even more.
Never heard of Lagrein? Neither had we until Liz introduced us to it and boy are we glad she did. It turns this Aussie Shiraz into something sensational!
Liz has the raw talent a lot of winemakers never quite find. We used Angel money to fund her first solo vintage, so you get exclusive new wines, at incredibly reasonable prices.
Liz is already in the vineyards, thinking about next year's wines. Give her your feedback NOW and she can make the 2012 vintage even better.
Stephen's made this a dangerously drinkable Shiraz that tastes and smells like a whole bucket of fruit.
If you've never heard of Lodi, you have to check it out. This region is just a little off the beaten path but it's producing sensational wines at very un-Californian prices.
You'll open this when you just want to relax in the afternoon. Sit back and sip Syrah.
Think of Lionel Richie, circa mid-eighties, all decked out in his best plum velvet suit, then add a bit of Barry White on top, and you BEGIN to get close to how smooth and enticing this red is.
Your first sensation is one of deep rich blueberry that gives way to a mixture of plum and damson, edged with a smokey streak of oak - all of which lasts an age with each mouthful. It's difficult to be too in love with this wine.
Open the bottle, show a frying pan a steak, briefly, then combine in mouth. Boom!
Whilst other wines taste like a cracked bell sounds (dull and flat), Juan's wines give out a perfectly pure note. As clean as the Andean snowmelt, you could wash your hands in this.
Juan doesn't own a suit. Probably. He certainly doesn't have a sales manager. So when Juan's principal client went bust we stepped in and helped out. In exchange for preferential prices.
Juan's latest vintages are just in but they are available in small quantities only, so grab them while you can.
You will be charged the Angel price on any wines you pay cash for. And any leftover CashBack or vouchers
will come off the full price, in the normal way.
