Alfredo Meyer's Story

"Cavas del 23 is the dream of two Buenos Aires natives who fell in love with the peaceful province of Mendoza, its people, landscapes, and climate, and who have since joined other viticulturists in the province in the effort to have nature yield the best it has to offer. 

The dream dates back to the 1980s, when I took the first fine Argentine wines to a fair in Germany and received glowing reviews. In those times, the refinement of Mendoza wines was still a Utopian vision. However, we saw potential in the endeavor and took to the work in earnest.

In 2002, we purchased a 90-acre vineyard and settled in Mendoza. The final step was in 2005 with the acquisition of a winery, a relic built in 1923 (commemorated in the name of our wines) whose orginal construction style has been preserved."
