DRG Daryl Groom Special Edition Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Magnum 2019
About the wine
Once-in-a-lifetime Magnum-sized Pinot, lovingly crafted by a grateful Sonoma legend
- Flourishes of fresh red fruits and a delicate touch of spicy oak character give way to a signature silky smoothness and complexity in this picture-perfect Pinot. “This turned out to be a really beautiful Pinot,” Daryl says. And what’s more, it only exists in these gloriously double-sized 1.5L bottles!
- With your support, Daryl harvested impeccable fruit from a small handful of premium vineyards in Sonoma’s world-famous Russian River Valley. Your winemaker took extra-special care crafting this giant-sized Pinot to strike just the right balance between rich, ripe fruitiness and lush, earthy elegance.
- Looking for the perfect holiday centerpiece? It doesn’t get any more luxurious than a whole Magnum of custom-made Pinot from your own iconic winemaker. If you’re able, gather a few of your favorite people and share the Pinot joy – you’ve earned it!
Best before
This Pinot is delicious now, but if you plan to hold on to this one, it will also age well over the next 10 years.
Serving advice
Serve this Pinot at around 60-65ºF to let the decadent fruit show off to the fullest.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Daryl Groom
- Meet Daryl... a 35-year veteran of the wine biz, credited eight-times as Winemaker of the Year, named by Food & Wine Magazine as one of 11 visionaries to change the world of wine... and oh yes, he served up his wines at the Oscars and Emmys two years in a row! Safe to say, the man's accomplished.
- Working as the senior white and red winemaker at Penfolds, his 1986 Penfolds Grange was arguably one of the top 3 Granges ever made - 98 points from Spectator and Robert Parker. And now that he works for you, he loves showing off wines from Australia and his California home – Sonoma and Russian River Valley.
- Thanks to your funding, Daryl can focus on doing what he loves – making great wine and sharing great wine. And he selects the best barrels he needs and farms to the best quality. "You are a gift from God to a winemaker," he says. "I knew there were Angels in heaven!"
