Sin Fronteras Albarino 2011
About the wine
Wine of the Week
- If you think Napa is a one trick pony when it comes to white wine, Macario's got a curveball for you! Add a little zest to your life with a lively Albarino.
- Hugely refreshing and a great example of the fruitiness you can expect to get with this relatively unknown grape variety.
- There's almost no Albarino planted in Napa Valley so add it to your basket before the wine runs out completely. You owe it to yourself to try this variety.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Macario Montoya
Macario worked his way up from cellar worker to Napa and Sonoma star winemaker – leading by example for other Latino winemakers.
While Macario is Napa-based, he’s garnered attention for his Mediterranean-style wines in California – his Lodi blends and especially his Macario Montoya reds from Contra Costa’s heritage vineyards – whose label depiction of the old vines shows off the artistic talents of his brother, Maceo Montoya.
With your support, Macario’s reach knows no bounds – he is Sin Fronteras – without borders. He gives back tenfold, creating opportunities for underrepresented Latino winemakers like him.
