He's won more awards than we knew existed.
- Ken can't even remember all the 90+ scores he's gotten from Parker, The Wine Spectator and The Wine Enthusiast. He is the man behind a lot of Napa's greatest hits.
- He's spent nearly 40 vintages working in some of Napa's most prestigious wineries including Joseph Phelps, Flora Springs, and Heitz, but now he's ready to do his own thing.
- Ken has devoted a lifetime to perfecting his craft, and his wines are the proof. When Ken does Napa Cab, he nails it. When Ken does Central Coast Rhone variety, he nails it. Whatever he sets out to do, you can trust it's gonna be great.

Ken Deis's Story
While we love to let the winemakers speak for themselves, Ken is just too humble to do himself justice. This man has worked in California wine for nearly four decades. And he's made some of Napa's most recognized wines. His wines were ranked in The Wine Spectator's Top 100 list six different times (and one of those was #3). He's gotten 90+ scores since back in the days when 90-93 still meant something! Now, we'll let him tell his story, but we just wanted to get that bit of bragging out of the way!
“I enjoy the artistic vs scientific aspect of making wine, working with my hands as well as my head. I enjoy the fact that winemaking is a unique vocation where you get to truly enjoy the results of your work. I have been lucky enough to live and work in such a beautiful part of the world doing what I love to do.
While I was in the Air Force, I had friends that drank wine with meals at home growing up and taught me about some of the pleasures of wine. When I returned to college and studied winemaking, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by other students with more wine knowledge than me. And overwhelmed by all that enthusiasm and experience, my interest and passion in wine took off and never stopped growing.
I'm looking forward to making wines for Naked Angels. I have had a long career making wines in Napa Valley and look forward to continuing that but also in working with other varieties and grape growing areas making wines that I have not had the chance to make before.”
