About the wine
Ana went back to her winemaking roots for this elegant, easy-sipping Portuguese Rosé
- Bright and vibrantly fruity, with zings of citrus and mouth-watering crispness, Ana’s Rosé is the perfect Portuguese refresher for the rest of summer.
- With your support, Ana took the classic varietals of her home country – Tempranillo, Syrah and the official winegrape of Portugal, Touriga Nacional – and coaxed these rich reds into a light, bright, easy-sipping pink you won’t be able to put down.
- Ana’s been your champion of Portuguese-style wines grown in California – now your funding has helped her travel back to her home country and call on her winemaking roots for her first-ever Angel-funded Rosé, directly from Portugal.
Best before
It will be good in bottle for 2-3 years, but in order to fully enjoy its fantastic fruit character, I advise you to enjoy it within the next year.
Serving advice
Serving advice is to chill it in the fridge, and serve it between 50 and 55º F. After opening the bottle, pour yourself the first glass. A suggestion is not to place the bottle immediately back on ice, but instead to let it "sweat" on the table, to fully allow this wine's intense aromas and character to shine through, as the temperature rises. If it's a very hot day, or if you intend to drink it over a longer period of time, then just place the bottle back in the fridge.
Food match
On a hot summer day, I love to pair it with a melon and prosciutto appetizer, or the Portuguese traditional clam dish "Ameijoas à Bulhão Pato --(https://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/clams-in-white-wine-ameijoas-a-bulhao-pato.html).
If I'm looking for a meal, then as a good Portuguese I have to choose a fresh fish, grilled over coals, accompanied by a good salad and bread.
