Bird on a Wire Syrah 2010
About the wine
.
- OK, if you think of Aussie Shiraz at one end of the spectrum, and Rhone Syrah at the other, this is pretty much bang in the middle of both, thanks to the unique skills of winemaker Caroline Mooney.
- On the one hand it has the beef and bravado of a typical Aussie Shiraz with massive fruit flavours, on the other, the sophistication and silkiness of top quality Rhone. It's not cheap by any means, but of all the pricey wines we've looked at, this was among the best.
- Grab a leg of lamb. Then go crazy with the combo!
