About the wine
Italian-inspired red blend from a Naked legend
- This easy-drinker captures the excitement of a day in Rome, David says, and with so many endless layers of fruity finesse, all we can say is – bellissimo!
- It was David's dream to make this rare blend of Italian varieties grown in California. Now he’s bringing it back for another jaw-dropping vintage – all thanks to YOU.
- The first time David brought his blend to taste, he came prepared – with loaves of bread and oodles of cheese. Take it as a hint: This wine is made for a big ol' meal. "It's Italian – it loves company," David says. Buon appetito!
Best before
This wine is delicious now, but will certainly age well for the next few years at least.
Serving advice
Simply pour a glass and enjoy! If you're patient, I'm sure it will also reward some cellar aging.
Food match
If you can make a Florentine steak, it would be well worth pairing with this red.

Meet the winemaker - David Akiyoshi
- "Best of California" in 2012, David was Director of Winemaking for Robert Mondavi's Woodbridge for 25 years.
- He was at the helm of Lodi's largest winery and is a fastidious and dedicated winemaker, the kind you expect to find in the world's most competitive and prestigious wine regions.
- David is a master in an undiscovered region. If you like to taste the next big thing while it's still totally underground, he is your winemaker.
