Daryl personally planted this vineyard next door to the motherlode of Grange's Barossa Shiraz
- Sexy, luscious Shiraz from one of the world's most famous wine-producing regions.
- What's more, Daryl planted this vineyard right next door to the motherlode of Penfolds' Shiraz vineyards (which go into $800 bottles of wine) so you know it's the perfect place to grow this fruit.
- Good vineyards have low yields and this one is no exception - there were only 2500 bottles produced for the US, so you may want to grab more than one if you like blockbuster Shiraz.
This wine will age well. If you like bold, juicy, in-your-face red wines with a little grip, drink it now. If you like full fruit but with a little more softness, drink it in a year. If you like your wines soft and complex, aging for 5+ years will reward. It has great acid, so this will also help hold it up for many years to come.
If you are enjoying the wine in its youth, sometimes a little aeration helps bring out the fruit and soften the edges. Personally I like to just pour straight from the bottle and aerate and swirl in the glass. Best served at room temperature 68ºF and below.
Local food match
Red meats like beef, lamb and game. Also yummy with Indian food if you want a red wine with this cuisine.
