JC van Staden Zinfandel 2014
About the wine
A bold and spicy Californian Zin
- Bold, spicy Zin. A bit of Old World elegance brought to the inky varietal that's putting Lodi on the map.
- JC is very very proud of how subtle and refined this Zinfandel is compared to the notorious fruit bombs that put Lodi on the map. And what's incredible is it doesn't cost a whole lot more to make this extra special Zin.
- JC's included the secret ingredients to a perfect BBQ wine - a firm body, ripe fruit, and a nice zinginess that can cut through that thick tangy BBQ sauce!
Best before
What are you waiting for?! It's drinking perfectly now (but can hold its own through 2018).
Serving advice
This is good straight out the bottle but it gets even better if you give it a good swirl in the glass.
Food match
BBQ and ribs, dripping with good thick sauce.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - JC van Staden
- JC is an all-star in California's Central Valley with a hand in producing many of the award-winning wines in the area like the Peltier Station Teroldego that unhooked a couple gold medals and a "Best of Class" award last vintage.
- His job lets him spot great fruit that stands out, so he separates that to make great wine that always overdelivers.
- We're really excited to have a Lodi winemaker who specializes in big, beefy reds because these are typically expensive-styled wines, but he's delivering them at really impressive prices.
