About the wine
Bold, refined red - a specialty for Karen's Barbera fans
- This big, Reserve-level Barbera is full of brooding, deeply concentrated dark fruit flavors that lead into a long, luxurious finish.
- Barbera is a first-rate classic red over in Italy, but in Northern California? Not so much. With your support, Karen got the best of the vintage from Lodi — and she’s ready to give Italy a run for its money!
- This is a limited production of a special wine. If you get your hands on a few bottles, Karen asks for you to be patient and wait a few months to enjoy this truly decadent red. If you can't wait, let it breathe a while.
Best before
This is a wine you tuck away until later this year (minimum), or even better next year. This wine is for my Barbera fans!
Serving advice
This is a really limited production, have patience, wait to open until next winter. This is the best of the vintage and this special wine needs to age on your wine rack.

Meet the winemaker - Karen Birmingham
- Karen Birmingham proved her incredible talent working for years at sustainable winery LangeTwins (with David Akiyoshi).
- Angel funding has helped her start her own project featuring breathtaking grape varieties many Lodi wineries are afraid of playing with!
- Karen's delicate touch always brings out the best in the fruit (she's won back-to-back Gold and Double Gold medals to prove it!) and really makes these grapes shine in the warm, sandy soils she calls home.
