About the wine
Rick's sultry powerhouse Syrah is a smooth Santa Barbara stunner
- This sleek Syrah is packed top to bottom with deep, dark fruit flavors of blackberry, and plum, backed by traces of toasty oak and a plush, generous smoothness that keeps unfolding with each sip.
- This dreamy Syrah is brought to you by your Santa Barbara savant, Rick! With 30+ years of coastal winemaking experience, he's a winemaking guru when it comes to cool-climate creations like this savory Syrah. Just one sip of this treasure from Rick and you'll see where your Angel funding went!
- Serve with juicy pork ribs, slathered in a spicy-sweet marinade. It might be the messiest meal ever... but worth it? 100%.
Best before
The wine will age gracefully for 5-6 years, but is enjoyable early in its life too.
Serving advice
Rick's advice: "Open it when you are feeling good and want some pleasure in your glass."
Food match
Rick's personal favorite pairing with this Syrah includes oak-smoked pork baby back ribs or local free range lamb chops smoked with oak and rosemary wood.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Rick Boyer
- We’ve been looking for an experienced winemaker familiar with the
Central Coast and Monterey area in particular – we knew Rick fit the bill. He's farmed gorgeous, cool SoCal vineyards for over 25 years! - He had been making wine his whole life, but got out of the biz (to start a bonsai
business) because the risk and middlemen got in the way of his passion. He's back in, thanks to you! - What makes Rick's wines special? "I take a different perspective compared to a lot of other wines out there - like Euro style; feminine; delicate - like focused generous reds, focused complex whites; plenty of persistence, fruit, and flavor."
