About the wine
Irresistibly rich, sultry Australian red bursting with ripe, refined fruit
- Mouth-filling richness and a flash of dark delectable fruit glide on a tempting, velvety smoothness into a long, lip-smacking finish that’ll have you thinking about your next bottle of this sultry Shiraz before you're even done with the first.
- With Angel funding, Sam chose the best of the best fruit from three different vineyards in South Australia, including his very own family vineyard, then expertly blended it all for breathtaking complexity at his small winery in Seymour, coaxing out every sumptuous layer and nuance of fruity flavor possible.
- This red treasure’s decadent smoothness and a toasty bit of oak make it the perfect companion for an afternoon around the grill, or “barbie” as they call it Down Under. Serve it up with a juicy, mouthwatering rack of lamb or ribs and you’re all set!
Best before
This Shiraz can be enjoyed now, but it also has the structure (enough tanning and acid) to age gracefully over 3-5 years and develop more savory flavors.
Serving advice
No need to decant it, and I think it is at its best if served a little cooler than room temperature -- say 60-64ºF.
Food match
This is a versatile red and will match with most red meat dishes, but the bomb of fruit flavor, and velvety tannins I think makes it a great match for game food. I know this sounds silly because venison or wild boar pretty much never hits our table, but if we were eating game, this would be the wine!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Sam Plunkett
- Sam is one of our Australian All-Stars. He garnered lots of attention as the award-winning winemaker at Plunkett Fowles.
- But Plunkett Fowles hit rough waters and Sam wasn't sure he'd be able to stay in the wine business...until he became Angel funded. Your support put his startup on the map.
- Now Sam is off to the races – with the same dedication to quality winemaking that won so many accolades at Plunkett Fowles – and none of the bother about sales and marketing.
