Sharon Weeks Cattoo California Feral Red 2020
About the wine
Bold, fruit-driven red blend from your leading Paso Robles winemaker
- This 'Feral' red blend is a rowdy mix of decadent dark fruit flavors from blackberry to ripe plum, with just the right touch of tastebud-tingling spice and a long, lush finish thanks to 6 months of aging in French oak.
- With the help of your funding, Sharon could source a medley of perfectly ripened fruit from vineyards throughout Paso Robles and Santa Barbara wine country – bringing together Pinot Noir, Syrah, Petite Verdot and Merlot in this lush, mouth-filling red blend.
- This is a perfect dress-up-or-down red that will pair well with just about anything on the BBQ. Whether it’s savory ribs, juicy burgers, sizzling steak, pizza, pulled pork, chili verde, Tex-Mex, pasta with red sauces – you name it, it won’t disappoint.
Best before
This red blend is delicious now and will continue to deliver excellent drinkability through 2026.
Serving advice
Please do not open this wine on the day that you receive it. This is a young wine and I do recommend decanting this wine for 60 mins prior to drinking to allow the flavors and aromatics to fully develop. This also helps soften the tannins and will give the wine a smoother taste. I also recommend letting all of my wines rest for a minimum of 2 weeks after receiving them to allow them to recover from the shipping. The shipping really does impact the aromatics and flavors of the wine and does make a difference on how much you will enjoy your wines.
Food match
This is a versatile food wine that pairs well with just about anything, from BBQ to ribs, burgers, pizza, pasta with meat sauces, casseroles, pulled pork, Tex-Mex, cheddar, gouda, Manchego and blue cheese.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Sharon Weeks
- It started as a few odd jobs in the cellar, and turned into a winemaking gig. Over 30 years later, Sharon can't imagine ever wanting to do anything else.
- Sharon's responsible for making some seriously great wines for others – thousands over her 30-year career. But she's always disappointed after the wine's shipped off... all that hard work, and she never hears what becomes of it!
- Now that you've made her an independent winemaker, she loves sharing her big, enthusiastic winemaking style with Angels – and hearing what you think!
