Timothy Olson Pinot Noir California 2016
About the wine
Light and refreshing Pinot - with a jam-packed finish!
- Tim's latest Pinot Noir carries on as a classic. It's full of aromas like cherry and wild strawberries, and worth every scrumptious little sip.
- Tim credits "great farmers" for giving him really stellar fruit this vintage - this is a well-made wine with lots of complexity and elegance that reminds us of a coastal Pinot in the best of ways.
- In the "real world" this wine would retail for $35 to $40 (and that's how much Tim used to sell his wines for before Angel funding gave him wings and let him make this wine without any of the wasted marketing and sales costs.)
Best before
This wine will age nicely for a few years but it was made to be consumed young when all its primary fruit flavors are still intact.
Serving advice
I always recommend a good decanting for an hour or two before drinking.
Food match
My wines are always made with food in mind. This wine will pair well with lighter pastas, seafoods and pizza. Salud!

Years Angel-funded: 2012-18
- Tim's wines have earned 90+ point scores by just about everybody who knows how to count that high. He's worked the cellar everywhere from Caymus and Acacia to his own wines at Olson Ogden.
- He's been making wines in Napa and Sonoma for 25 years and was the oenologist for a famous barrel company working with over 500 wineries around California.
- He knows where the fruit is, he knows how to make it into great wine, and is a pro at making stellar wines without breaking the bank!
