About the wine
Rare, barrel-aged red - a Portuguese-inspired classic from a single California vineyard
- Ana’s Tempranillo is a mouthful of powerful, complex flavors of dark cherry, blackberry and plum, woven together with a decadent, velvety texture from 16 months of aging in expensive French oak barrels.
- By helping her access a tiny plot of rare Tempranillo growing in the Sierra foothills, you’re key to helping Ana prove how irresistible Portugal’s most famous wines can be when crafted on the West Coast.
- With layer after layer of complexity, this is one red you’ll want to let breathe for a few minutes after opening, ideally while whipping up a hefty steak or hearty veggie paella.
Best before
This rich red is delicious now, but has the potential to age in your cellar over a long period of time - a good 5 to 8 years! If you can, please be sure to grab a few bottles to lay down in your cellar, and years from now, you will be rewarded for your patience.
Serving advice
Please be sure to decant this red for 1 to 2 hours, so every layer of flavor gets to fully express itself. Pour yourself a glass while you wait and taste how the wine opens and shifts.
Food match
This is a full-bodied wine, which will pair well with hearty dishes. This wine is a great pairing for a mixed cheese board (think Manchego, parmesan, cheddar) or an exquisite charcuterie plate. Don't forget the crunchy baguette!
Contains sulphites
