About the wine
Ana's tantalizing Touriga is everything you want in a powerfully refined red and more
- Endless complexity, lush, velvety smoothness, fruity flavors more refined than you ever thought possible – this tempting Portuguese-inspired red from Ana has it all.
- Powered by Angel funding and a tireless drive to prove how perfectly Portugal’s national grape, Touriga Nacional, can grow in West Coast soils, Ana expertly took this epic red to irresistibility and beyond.
- How Ana got so many intensely juicy, ripe and downright elegant flavors into one bottle is still a mystery. But there’s no better way to ponder it than by opening up a bottle and diving right in.
Best before
Due to the fact that this wine presents a distinguished tannin profile, rich in color, and with great natural acidity, it will age in your cellar over a long period of time. I'd dare to say up to 10-15 years!
Serving advice
Please be sure to open it at least one to two hours before drinking it, so all the flavors can fully emerge, as well as to soften those powerful tannins.
Ideally, this wine will be decanted for at least one hour (two ideally), so that all its unique aromas can fully be experienced. But, please, be sure to pour yourself a healthy glass, so you can sip and see how it opens up over time.
Food match
A rich cheese like a Stilton, Roquefort or Gorgonzola. This is a match made in heaven! And please don't forget the (fresh) bread!!
Any Italian dish, with a rich tomato sauce, will be brilliant with this wine. But it's got to be the real deal tomato sauce!!
A nice cut of meat, slowly roasted, paired with a tangy green salad is also a top pairing.
My heart skips a beat for a homemade spaghetti carbonara, which is especially good paired with this Touriga. I keep going back to that pairing.
