About the wine
California finesse meets Portuguese power in Ana's beguiling red blend
- The best of Portugal in one luscious, mind-blowing California red? You found it. Powered by a complex, juicy kaleidoscope of cherry, blueberry and plum flavors and soft, silky smoothness, Ana’s blend is half Touriga Nacional, half Tempranillo and 100% irresistible.
- Ana’s tantalizing red is the best of both her worlds, blending her Portuguese roots with her expertise as a master California winemaker – and it’s all thanks to your support.
- “This is the kind of red blend that Angels will love to drink with a great meal,” Ana says, “or just sip all night long!”
Best before
This wine can be enjoyed right away, but will also age very nicely over the next 8 - 10 years.
However, if you choose to enjoy it now, you're in for a treat. But please be sure to decant the wine for 1 hour before drinking it.
Serving advice
As a young red wine, please be sure to let it breathe before enjoying it. I recommend opening it 1 - 2 hours before consumption.
Another great option is to either decant it or to have the wine go through an aerator.
But please pour yourself a glass while you wait - it's really fun to sip the wine while you wait, and to see how it changes in the glass.
Food match
Any Italian inspired dishes will pair beautifully with this red blend, particularly red sauce based. I'm thinking Bolognese with a crunchy piece of bread.
Pizza is also on top of my list, particularly a "grown-up pizza" (a.k.a. gourmet pizza!). But a pepperoni will also do in a crunch!
I also love an elaborate meat cannelloni, as it brings me back to Sunday lunches with my family (it is one of my favorite dishes!).
I recently tried it with a homemade roasted chicken and the paring was perfect. Simple Sunday dinner!!
