About the wine
This delicate, fresh Pinot Blanc is a crisp crowd-favorite from the heart of Oregon wine country
- This white Willamette Pinot Blanc is a crisp, delicate refresher with bright fruit flavors like melon and peach, balanced with traces of tangy citrus and a long, mouthwatering finish.
- Originally from Germany and Northern Italy, Pinot Blanc is a super rare find on this side of the world. But with your support, Chris scouted out a tiny Pinot patch growing in two prestige vineyards right in his backyard of Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
- Last year’s debut vintage of this Pinot Blanc was such a smash hit that Angels funded Chris to bring his Pinot Blanc back for this stunning follow-up vintage. With such an eager following, this is one warm-weather white you don’t want to sleep on.
Best before
This wine is ready to drink now. It will be fantastic this summer on any warm evening while grilling. It could age for a couple years if lost in the wine closet and still be stellar, but I doubt supplies will last until June.
Serving advice
The fine attributes will not disappear if seriously chilled. That said, as the wine warms in the glass the domination by citrus and acidity will fade and some serious complexity will develop. I would recommend allowing at least 1 glass to warm to 50ºF or so to gain the full appreciation of this wine.
Food match
Pinot Blanc in your summer rotation is amazing with all sorts of food, especially warm weather-inspired dishes like flame-kissed meats and seasonal seafood. For me, grilled halibut plus Pinot Blanc equals bliss. Playful citrus flavors also make so much sense with my favorite, a Dungeness crab boil on the beach. Who needs lemon when you're pouring this and going nuts for the sweet crustacean?
