F. Stephen Millier Black Label Viognier 2016
About the wine
An intensely powerful Viognier that's endlessly refreshing
- This is a zippy little Viognier, sweet as a plump peach. It's got a great richness that helps its fruity flavors linger – and trust me, you want them to linger.
- You might not know Lodi or Calaveras County – they're two wine regions just a little off the beaten path. Stephen used them both to make this flavor-packed white (for an insane price!)
- Serve it deliciously cold and this smooth thirst-quencher will keep you and your friends refreshed year round.
Best before
This wine will improve in the bottle so there isn't a huge hurry to drink it up. It should be fine starting this summer.
Serving advice
Early on I'd let it breathe a little, maybe 15-20 minutes but as the wine ages the breathing might not be necessary.
Food match
I recently paired the 2015 version of this wine with glazed ham with scalloped potatoes, delish.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Stephen Millier
- Stephen is no stranger to gold medals, but usually his prestigious employers are the only ones in the limelight.
- We offered Stephen some Angel funding to set aside some of his favorites wines and vineyards to make a special range with his name on the label just for us, and he jumped at the opportunity.
- If you like underdogs, Stephen's your man. He will find the over-looked and under-appreciated and he will take precious care to make sure they grow into big, beautiful wines that deserve more attention.
