F. Stephen Millier Black Label Viognier 2017
About the wine
An intensely powerful Viognier that's endlessly refreshing
- This is a zippy little Viognier - it's lively and tropical, with a richness that helps its fruity flavors linger. And you want them to linger.
- This wine was sent "direct to press", no crushing. That's why this Gold Country white is full of such fresh fruit... what you expect from a good Viognier!
- Serve it deliciously cold with a plate of buttery scallops - if you can part with a few drops, toss a little wine in the pan, too!
Best before
Because I've blended in a small portion of Sierra Foothills fruit this Viognier will stand the test of time. It should continue to improve for the next year or two and remain quite enjoyable for some time beyond that.
Serving advice
This wine will be best served with a slight chill and allowed to open up in the glass for a few minutes.
Food match
My go to dish with Viognier is scallops sautéed in a little olive oil and garlic with fresh grape juice. Viognier juice is great!
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Stephen Millier
- Stephen is no stranger to gold medals, but usually his prestigious employers are the only ones in the limelight.
- We offered Stephen some Angel funding to set aside some of his favorites wines and vineyards to make a special range with his name on the label just for us, and he jumped at the opportunity.
- If you like underdogs, Stephen's your man. He will find the over-looked and under-appreciated and he will take precious care to make sure they grow into big, beautiful wines that deserve more attention.
