F. Stephen Millier Legend Series Hay Station Ranch Tempranillo Calaveras County 2021
About the wine
Strike gold with this single-vineyard sensation
- Dripping with flavors like blackberry, blueberry and caramel, this is for fans of full-bodied, bold reds. It’s Tempranillo done the Millier way!
- Angel funding helped Stephen harvest premium grapes from Hay Station Ranch in the Sierra Foothills – a former way station for horses in the California Gold Rush days that powered the Wells Fargo stagecoach line.
- Stephen says, “Did I say this wine is superb? That’s an understatement! Don't mind if I do!” He’s struck a different kind of gold – one you can enjoy time and time again!
Best before
It will benefit from age, but it sure tastes really good right now!

Food match
Grilled eggplant and zucchini with fresh sliced tomato, freshly grated parmesan cheese and basil - plucked fresh from the garden. Simple and hearty, that's what I call the good life!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Stephen Millier
- Stephen is no stranger to gold medals, but usually his prestigious employers are the only ones in the limelight.
- We offered Stephen some Angel funding to set aside some of his favorites wines and vineyards to make a special range with his name on the label just for us, and he jumped at the opportunity.
- If you like underdogs, Stephen's your man. He will find the over-looked and under-appreciated and he will take precious care to make sure they grow into big, beautiful wines that deserve more attention.
