Francoise Gazeau Cremant de Limoux Brut Classique Rose 2017
About the wine
Silky sparkling Rosé that rivals Champagne
- Angels made the most impeccable sparkling Rosé possible - Cremant de Limoux – for under $15. If that isn't triomphe... what is?!
- You sent Francoise – a Limoux expert – to make a fresh pink sparkler from four different grapes including rare Mauzac. They all give this luminous bubbly its crisp fruit flavors. It's just so elegant!
- At an everyday price like this, Limoux is the perfect alternative to a Champagne. "You pay less for better quality!" Francoise says proudly.
Best before
Enjoy now! It is perfectly refreshing. If you would like to age it, I recommend a maximum of 3 years. The taste of the Rose will feel very different. It will be a much richer style. Personally, I like them young!
Serving advice
Bend the bottles at 45 degrees and open the cork very gently to keep a maximum gas inside to enjoy the fine bubbles.
Food match
A flute of Rosé can be an excellent pre-dinner cocktail. It's also a great pairing with almost any seafood, sashimi and sushi. Thai food also.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Françoise Gazeau
If you’re looking for delicate sparkling wines with a fresh bit of French elegance and finesse, Françoise is your match. “I like to keep a beautiful acidity in all my wines," she says. "I'm also convinced that it's important to give wines time. That’s what makes bubbles so luscious and complex."
A 6th generation winemaker from Limoux – an ancient provence in the southern Languedoc famous for sparkling wines like Crémant de Limoux – Françoise is proud to carry her family's winemaking traditions – but she has a bigger vision in mind...
"I dream about Limoux becoming the best sparkling wine appellation in the world," she says excitedly. "And Angels will make that happen!"
