About the wine
Bold, lavish red blend made with Katie's special touch of French finesse
- This big, refined red is a perfect slice of southern France’s signature richness and spice, with a lush lineup of red berry fruit flavors and a soft herbal touch on the luxuriously long-lasting finish.
- Angel support helped Katie scout out and hand-harvest high-end Carignan, Grenache and Syrah from heritage vines in the hills above her tiny village of Tuchan in the South of France. Some of the vines are over 100 years old, meaning their yields are low, but the grapes' flavor complexity is sky-high!
- Fun fact: Katie makes this rich red in her winery in a converted train shed – hence the name “La Gare” and the train engine on the label.
Best before
Will age well for up to 5 years.
Serving advice

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Katie Jones
- Katie's obsession with wine led her all the way from Leicestershire to the Languedoc in the south of France. After selling wine for other people for years, she decided to pack it all in and follow her dreams, buying an idyllic vineyard perched on a hillside.
- Katie turned to Angels after vandals poured her entire year's vintage down the drain. Thanks to Angel funding, you got her back on her feet, producing more sensational wine in no time. Katie is keen to say thank you with a big Angel savings.
- Katie's wines are seriously juicy and robust, with sparkly awards a plenty... most recently she won a GOLD medal and the Fitou trophy at the International Wine Challenge and 90+ points from the Wine Advocate to boot.
