Martin Mackenzie Red Blend Moon Mountain 2014
About the wine
A bottled up storm of big, unctuous power
-
A luxuriously rich red blend that offers insane bang for your buck value. He’s used grapes from two vineyards in the up-and-coming Moon Mountain region of Sonoma and he’s done a smokin’ hot job.
-
It’s a sleeping giant of a wine, but with a well-rounded softness that has you reaching for the glass over and over again.
- Martin’s red blend is a carnivorous beast that’s hungry for meat! He recommends a long simmered ragu spooned onto a plate of steaming hot pasta. Only 400 cases so don’t steam the ragu too long or it’ll be sold out completely!
Best before
It is very approachable although it still posseses plenty of fine tannin. I would be enjoying it now and for the next 5 - 10 years
Serving advice
Yes, do open it. And then enjoy! Decant it if you like.
Food match
Osso Bucco or any red meat ragout.
Contains sulphites
