Negreiros Douro 2007
About the wine
.
- Nearly 10 hectares of the vineyard produce around 50 tons of grapes per year, from which only 10 to 15 tons are used for the Negreiros wine. The large majority is still traded for Port wine production
- Only the very best grapes make it in to this IWSC Silver Medal winning wine, making it very special indeed!
- This wine is highly recommended with 'Beef Cozido à Portuguesa' which is a tasty, rich beef stew

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Mario Negreiros
Years Angel-funded: 2015-17
- Mario's 'Quinta das Amendoeiras' vineyards were bought by his Grandfather over 70 years ago. All that time, they sold their grapes to be used for Port.
- Mario took over the vineyard management in 2002, and decided to fulfill his father's wishes by turning their family's best grapes into their own wine. Now he runs Negrerios Wine and Quinta das Amendoerias in the Douro - you can visit the winery and stay there, too!
- He was discovered by a few of UK Archangels on their tasting trip through Portugal... and we're really pleased they found us such a talented winemaker to join our ranks!
