Richard Bruno Red Dirt Red Paso Robles 2016
About the wine
Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, Petite Sirah - the gang's all here in this robust Paso Robles red blend
- This intense red blend brings together Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache and Petite Sirah in one powerful wine, coursing with dark fruit flavors, with a backbone of toasted oak and a sleek finish.
- Richard specially selected this cast of red grapes from a single vineyard in the Geneseo District of Paso Robles, then treated the wine to a full 18 months of aging in French Oak barrels to make his most concentrated, powerful vintage of this red yet.
- This racy red blend is a limited, one-off release showcasing Richard’s work outside of Naked Wines. Scoop up a bottle to explore even more of what this world’s best winemaker has to offer!
Best before
This wine is tasting very nice now, but is a baby and should age gracefully for another 10+ years though 2030.
Serving advice
This wine should be opened and decanted and/or aerated for at least 30 minutes before serving for optimal expression.
Food match
Aside from just sipping on its own, this wine is a perfect pairing with traditional Cassoulet and does well with lamb kebabs over wild and basmati rice or with tabouli and hummus. But it's irresistible with a grilled aged rib eye steak and served with mascarpone polenta, wilted baby spinach and truffle salted, seared porcini mushrooms.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Richard Bruno
- Richard Bruno is exactly what we love in a winemaker– the quiet achiever behind the scenes at some of the world's most famous wine brands. He's made wine for Francis Ford Coppola and Don Sebastiani, the latter of which was named Winery of the Year TWICE under his watch.
- During his decades making wine for famous wineries and earning them 90+ scores, he has traveled all up and down California's coastal wine regions. His experience and familiarity with the terrain allow him to sniff out the best-bang-for-buck pretty much anywhere in the state.
- Launching one's wine brand is hard and expensive, so Richard is using Angel funding – and he's able to focus on winemaking, instead of selling wine.
