About the wine
Unbelievably refined, creamy Chardonnay from the newest high-end corner of Sonoma
This wonderfully smooth and creamy new sipper from your champion of Sonoma Chard is downright delectable, pulsing with lush fruit, a dash of warm, oaky spice that refreshes and warms the soul all at once.
Scott has the inside scoop to get him into Petaluma Gap, the newest hot-ticket corner of Sonoma wine country – where fog-shrouded mornings help the grapes ripen slow and steady to bring you Chardonnay so fresh and flavorful, this little subregion needed its very own name to set it apart.
This Chardonnay is one for the (history) books! It’s not every day you get to taste one of the first wines from a totally new region. People could still be drinking Petaluma Gap wines 100 years from now, but you’ll go down as one of the very first to enjoy it, all because you funded the right winemaker at the right time. I’ll toast to that!
Best before
Enjoy it now or over the next 5+ years -- it's got the oaky fullness from barrel fermenting and aging to last quite a while.
Serving advice
Don't serve this one too cold. Remove it from the refrigerator and open about 15 minutes before sipping. That should really open things up. Serve at 52º-55º F.
Food match
Perfect local pairings include Rosie's organic Petaluma chicken, fresh crab from Bodega Bay or grilled red snapper from the Sonoma Coast.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Scott Peterson
Scott spent over 20 years making wine for storied Sonoma wineries like Kendall-Jackson and Buena Vista – as well as Argentina’s Nicolás Catena Family of Wines and Chile’s Axel and La Playa Wines – before Angel support allowed him to march to his own drum.
Scott loves working with Angel funding because you allow him to make the wines he wants to. He's old school, and he doesn't want to make new styles just because they’re trendy.
If you like gloriously decadent, no-holds-barred wines, buy everything Scott makes. You will not regret it.
