About the wine
Rare single-vineyard red - a Portuguese-inspired stunner by way of California
This Tempranillo packs a powerful punch of ripe black plum, mocha and peppery spice flavors, backed by velvety softness from aging in French oak barrels.
By helping her access a tiny plot of rare Tempranillo growing in the Sierra Foothills, you’re key to helping Ana prove how irresistible Portugal’s most famous wines can be when crafted in California’s Gold Country.
With layer after layer of complexity, this is one red you’ll want to let breathe before serving, ideally while whipping up a decked-out cheese and charcuterie board, a big steak or paella.
Best before
This will age up to 10 years, so please be sure to grab a few bottles to lay down in your cellar and you will be rewarded for your patience.
Serving advice
Open 1-2 hours before drinking it, so all the fruit flavors can fully emerge while softening the powerful Tempranillo tannins.
Food match
This is a full-bodied wine that pairs great with aged cheeses, charcuterie and hearty dishes like well-marbled steak, paella (meat or vegetarian) or ratatouille.
Contains sulphites
