About the wine
Inky black Syrah from your Central Coast rockstar - get this bottle while it lasts!
Rich, old-vine Syrah from a gorgeous Santa Barbara vineyard named "Happy Canyon." If that doesn't give you a giant smile, just wait your mouth wraps around this megalicious red from your Central Coast Champ.
It floods your mouth with juicy fruit from the get-go – think ripe plums and berry flavors. And the aromas! Like plunging into an herb garden full of sage and wild thyme. I don't mean to wax poetic... but this inky black red is making me do it.
30+ years of winemaking experience went into this bottle - made exclusively for you by Mr. Central Coast himself. His Syrah would be 3x the price on a retail shelf - but "no way," Rick says, "for the Angels who made it possible."
Best before
The wine is built to be consumed in 3-4 years. Tannins are mature, smooth. This is a high pleasure wine.
Serving advice
Open 1 week after receiving the wine. Drink it up. Enjoy!
Food match
BBQ Monterey County lamb. Marinate in soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and five spice. Smoke over oakwood fire. Add 3-4 large sprigs of fresh rosemary to the fire. Close the lid and let the smoke wash over the lamb.
St. Agur cheese with warm homemade sourdough bread just out of the oven is also a nice combination.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Rick Boyer
- We’ve been looking for an experienced winemaker familiar with the
Central Coast and Monterey area in particular – we knew Rick fit the bill. He's farmed gorgeous, cool SoCal vineyards for over 25 years! - He had been making wine his whole life, but got out of the biz (to start a bonsai
business) because the risk and middlemen got in the way of his passion. He's back in, thanks to you! - What makes Rick's wines special? "I take a different perspective compared to a lot of other wines out there - like Euro style; feminine; delicate - like focused generous reds, focused complex whites; plenty of persistence, fruit, and flavor."
