Ana Diogo-Draper Amador Tempranillo 2017

An obscure Portuguese grape that won't stay obscure for long

    • Who knew that a wine could taste and look sooo dark? Touriga Nacional from St Amant Vineyard in Amador County where the warm days and cool nights cultivate a rich black fruit flavors and a long, strong finish.
    • Once you taste this incredible wine, you'll wonder why more Californian winemakers aren't obsessed with Touriga (an amazing grape that is mostly grown in Portugal and has never really been marketed in the new world).
    • We're thankful Ana's Portuguese upbringing drew her to work with this grape in California, because this is absolute gold that I'd recommend to any over of Petite Sirah or other big inky wines from the Foothills.

Aging advice
Can remain in your cellar for the next 5-8 years.

Serving advice
If you just can't wait that long, please remember to allow the wine to breathe by either decanting for at least 30 minutes, or passing it through an aerative device.

Local food match
Stew with beef and potatoes, pepper-crusted steak, or grilled Portobello mushrooms
