Evangelos Bagias Lodi Malbec 2018
About the wine
Big, bold, brooding California Malbec
Thousands of Angels are in love with this Malbec – and it’s easy to see (and taste) why! This dark and smooth red from Evangelos will dazzle you with rustic aromas and flavors like wild berries and rich mocha.
California Malbec is pretty rare, because it’s primarily known as a blending grape. But this ravenous red has been on a steady rise...and Evangelos knows where to harvest grapes with the juiciest, most robust flavor for your sultry red.
For the perfect food pairing, Evangelos recommends a glass of your Malbec when chowing down on some lasagna or pulled pork (he suggests giving it a few minutes to breathe and open up so the flavors really sing with the food).
Best before
Drink now or age 3-5 years.
Serving advice
Decant before serving, drink at 65ºF. This wine is young and will benefit from some air.
Food match
Chicked Cacciatore would work great with this Malbec as well as some homemade Greek moussaka. Also great with aged Manchego cheese or a blue cheese burger.
Contains sulphites

Winemaking is in Evangelos' blood. The man's from Athens, Greece – where you learn how to make your own vat of wine before you can drive.
-
Now he's championing the up-and-coming California wine capital of Lodi. As lead winemaker for Lodi Vintners, he knows just how to show off the region's very best fruit...
-
...and now that he's your Angel-funded winemaker, he can create his own signature style – and this guy's making Rosés, Cabs and Zinfandels like you won't believe!
