Fruity, easy-sipping Merlot - a vibrant favorite of over 22,000 Angels
- Dark cherry flavors and a lush, velvety texture abound in Stephen’s Lodi Merlot. This juicy red is a crowd-favorite among Angels, with an average 91% rating over 7 vintages.
- With the help of your funding, Stephen sourced his Merlot grapes from a single estate vineyard in the heart of Lodi, letting the fruit hang on the vines just a bit longer than normal to develop a rich cast of extra-concentrated flavors.
- This is the kind of meaty red wine you want to guzzle with homemade pizzas. Whether you’re going with spicy Italian sausage, or salt-laced anchovies, it’s gotta be a slice in one hand, Stephen’s Merlot in the other.
Best before
This merlot will be a good bottle when it's released. It will be a great bottle a few months later as it reassembles itself in the bottle. Then it only gets better for the next couple of years.
Serving advice
Please serve after it's been opened for 20-30 minutes. It should be very satisfying by then.
Food match
Lately we've been experimenting with making pizza on the Weber. We've even secured a pizza stone to help with the crust. Pizza is all about the crust and toppings. I prefer mine with little sauce, freshly grated cheese and I'm always ready with anchovies. I love the salty savory flavors those little fish bring to the party.

- Stephen is no stranger to gold medals, but usually his prestigious employers are the only ones in the limelight.
- We offered Stephen some Angel funding to set aside some of his favorites wines and vineyards to make a special range with his name on the label just for us, and he jumped at the opportunity.
- If you like underdogs, Stephen's your man. He will find the over-looked and under-appreciated and he will take precious care to make sure they grow into big, beautiful wines that deserve more attention.
