Jac Cole Napa Valley Mosaico 2014
About the wine
An old-world blend with new world richness
- Rich, chocolatey wine with intense berry fruit and an intoxicating aroma. You really feel the blend come through in this (Cabernet, Merlot and Malbec).
- These grapes come from the same part of the world, round abouts Bordeaux in France, but you don't often find them blended in the USA - so Jac's brought them back together to make this dangerously powerful, full-bodied Napa red.
- My mouth starts watering at the thought of a huge glass of this dark, brooding wine paired with a deliciously seasoned pork tenderloin.
Best before
This wine will benefit from some bottle aging, 4 to 6 months, but overall it will continue to improve for several years
Serving advice
Yes, decant this wine. It's young and needs the aeration to help mellow out its youth
Food match
I'm leaning towards beef, like long roasted short ribs or an nice grilled rib eye steak.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jac Cole
Years Angel-funded: 2013-2021
- He's a master winemaker who was cellar master at Stag's Leap and winemaker at Charles Krug before he met you!
- Jac loves making wine but finds that he spends way too much time selling it. He's an old buddy of other Napa indie winemakers like Ken Deis - in fact, Ken told him about Angel funding...
- You gave him his dream job, so you deserve to taste the amazing range of wines he's making exclusively for you!
