Martin Mackenzie Cabernet Sauvignon Moon Mountain 2014
About the wine
A demanding, luxurious Cabernet from up and coming Moon Mountain
-
Sonoma County's Moon Mountain features elevations from 400 up to 2,000 feet above sea level, and those high growing conditions are stellar for this refined style of Cab.
-
Martin’s heavy-hitting cab is luscious, rich and spicy. It brings bags of ripe black fruit to the table and has an enduring, drawn out finish. Make no bones about it, this is incredibly high-quality.
-
Rosemary, garlic and a deboned shoulder of lamb. Slam it on the grill and pop the cork on this powerful Cab. You’re a glass down by the time it comes off the heat, another by the time it’s rested. Only 400 cases so it’s sure to go fast!
Best before
Buy a case and try a bottle each year. When you like it so much you want to keep opening more you know you have found your sweet spot! I am guessing at 5 -7 years for me.
Serving advice
For the first few years I would recommend decanting it 30 minutes prior to serving, though I personally do not bother, however the last sip of the last glass is always the best!
Food match
Grilled deboned leg of lamb with rosemary, New Zealand lamb of course!
Contains sulphites
