Sam Plunkett Stardust and Muscle Shiraz 2020
About the wine
This smooth Shiraz is an Australian charmer
- Sam’s Shiraz is light and peppery with the freshness of eucalyptus and wafts of sweet meat cooking on the barbie — it’s the perfect Aussie day in a glass.
- With Angel funding, Sam hit three different vineyards to create a balanced fruit flavor that whispers — not screams — but it says all the right things.
- Sam suggests serving his Shiraz slightly cooler than room temperature, so pop it in the fridge for a bit while you fire up the grill and it will be the perfect pairing for anything you char up.
Best before
This Shiraz can be enjoyed now, but it also the structure (enough tanning and acid) that it will age gracefully over 2-4 years and develop more savory flavors.
Serving advice
No need to decant, and I think is at its best if served a little cooler than room temperature.
Food match
This is a versatile red and will match with most red meat dishes. With this vintage I suggest anything with char flavor from the barbie.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Sam Plunkett
- Sam is one of our Australian All-Stars. He garnered lots of attention as the award-winning winemaker at Plunkett Fowles.
- But Plunkett Fowles hit rough waters and Sam wasn't sure he'd be able to stay in the wine business...until he became Angel funded. Your support put his startup on the map.
- Now Sam is off to the races – with the same dedication to quality winemaking that won so many accolades at Plunkett Fowles – and none of the bother about sales and marketing.
