Timothy Olson Dry Creek Zinfandel 2014
About the wine
Tim's first Zinfandel for Angels - a tantalizing match for grilled meat right now or after aging.
Tim Olson, your Angel-funded winemaker, wants to make sure you know:
- "This wine is classic Zinfandel in aroma and taste with a slight hint of mocha/cocoa. Medium dark in color with red fruit notes of berries and black cherries. Medium weight in mouthfeel and a nice long finish, this wine will pair nicely with a range of food."
- "But we didn't make enough and it will sell out fast. Stock up now 'cause it won't be there when you go back to order more."
- "This is my first Zinfandel for the Angels. They will recognize the same style and attention to detail that are in my Pinot Noir's and Syrah's. In the 'real' world, this wine would retail for $30 to $40. At the price our Angels pay, it’s a steal for under $20."
Best before
I look for balance in my wines. They need acidity in order to pair with food and age properly. My wines age easily for 8 to 15 years, sometimes longer. They drink well young although I recommend a good aerative decanting when consuming the wine if its under five years old. Just remember, itÂ’s like dog years. Wines age 7 human years for every one wine year. Rarely do wines/people have their stuff together before the age of 5/35.
