Timothy Olson Syrah Dry Creek Valley 2014
About the wine
Single vineyard Syrah from Dry Creek Valley
- Rich, intense Syrah with a delicate, velvety finish. A touch of Viognier in the blend lightens and brightens the wine's dark fruit aroma.
- This is Unti Vineyard fruit that Tim has worked with for eleven years. He has experimented with every nook and cranny of the vines, various winemaking styles and techniques, and every vintage gets better.
- Really special stuff made in a very small quantity. Get yours now or miss out forever.
Best before
I look for balance in my wines. They need acidity and tannins in order to pair with food and age properly. My wines age easily for 8 to 15 years, sometimes longer. They drink well young although I always recommend a good aerative decanting for a couple hours when consuming my wines if theyÂ’re under five years old. Just remember, itÂ’s like dog years. Wines age 7 human years for every one wine year. Rarely do wines/people have their shit together before the age of 5/35.
Serving advice
Yes. Open, decant and enjoy!
Food match
While this wine will pair easily with a wide range of food, personally I love how Syrah and Lamb work together. A couple of grilled lamb chops, some herbed potatoes and a green salad along with a bottle of this wine and youÂ’ll be in heaven. Of course, where else would an Angel be enjoying their Naked wines?
