The nose is blackcurrant with a hint of vanilla. Plenty of blackcurrant on the palate with some black cherry as well. There's a bit of black pepper midpalate along with a bit of green pepper. Good tannins on the finish with a bit of oak. Good acidity to balance everything out. This is a very young wine, which means it's very fruit-forward right now. With some age, more of the oak and spice should come through. Right on the bottle is the recommendation to drink now or save until 2018, and that seems quite reasonable to me, but I'm sure I won't be able to wait that long!
