Christian Patat is an international man of delights. Every wine he touches turns into liquid gold! Having proved himself in Italy, France, and Spain for over two decades, Christian knows exactly how to craft sensational wines.
Christian travels all over Italy as a consultant, working with local producers to make wines that shine. Now he’s bringing you lesser-known Italian whites like Grecanico and Falanghina from some of the best vineyards in his home region, made by his own expert hand.

Christian Patat's Story
Christian’s academic background includes classical studies and philosophy, so initially, wine was simply a family passion. His father was a connoisseur of fine Italian and French wines and had a talent for discovering hidden gems. Over time, Christian’s excitement for wine grew and he began selling it. It wasn’t long until he founded an import company of small wineries, where he selected small-production cuvées from all over the world.
It turned out, however, that Christian’s calling was working in the vineyard and cellar. He wanted to know what was behind a good wine and have control over its quality. He gradually moved from sales into winemaking. He studied enology all on his own. His first winemaking experience was in his home region of Friuli, thanks to the generosity of his wine-growing friends. He also worked in France and Spain, then launched his career as a consultant for Italian producers.
As part of Italy’s largest winery, Christian has become the expert in producing wines from native Italian grape varieties. Angel support allows him access to the best vineyards and the opportunity to make wines from new varieties.
Christian makes his wines with the utmost respect for the land and the people working in the vineyards and in the cellar. For him, this is just as important as good taste. The first time he made wine from a 100-year-old Chardonnay vineyard in his region, he felt honored. “I like to think that the wines I make respect their place of origin and that a bottle always contains an intimate connection to its land.”
Christian knows exactly how to craft delicious, balanced wines with a sense of place. “It always seems to me that the fermentation of grapes is a miracle, and to think that the resulting liquid can give pleasure to people is a source of great satisfaction.”
