Angel support took Derek to Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley to harvest Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the perfect place to achieve fresh, ripe flavors – then he aged the wine in French and Hungarian oak barrels for over a year to make it oh-so smooth.

Thanks to Angel funding, Macario sourced his grapes from 4th generation winegrowers in Oakley, California who cherish this grape style usually found in France and Spain. The grapes were handpicked from legacy head-trained vines in sandy soils – some 130 years old!
