Jarvis Tomei Old Scary Zinfandel El Dorado County 2015
About the wine
Brooding, elegant old-vine Zinfandel
- Deep, delicious old-vine Zinfandel from the heights of El Dorado County. There's a lingering, brooding elegance to this wine that leaves you wanting more.
- Because their wines have been such a roaring Angel success, Jeff and Jessica have carte blanche to expand production and make the most of this beautiful El Dorado vineyard and its luscious fruit.
- Past vintages have sold out in a few weeks and we expect the same to happen again. Act now or you may never get to taste this wine.
Best before
The Zinfandel can be enjoyed immediately as long as it is decanted but will age well for 5-7 years.
Serving advice
This wine should be opened and allowed to aerate in the first year of aging to show its full potential and complexity.
Food match
As Always this wine is a great partner with Pizza but also does really well with mixed grill, sausages and firm dry cheeses.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jarvis Tomei Family
Years Angel-funded: 2012-18
- Jeff and Jessica worked around the world at top wineries in Italy, Chile and all over before settling down in California to craft boutique wines and make a family.
- Being a small boutique winemaker means a lot of time in the cellar and even more time selling the wine on the road. Angel-funding gave Jeff and Jessica to make and sell great wine without sacrificing the time to make memories with their kids while they were tots.
- And through a special rescue wine, Angels gave this family the funds they needed to stay afloat to cover their daughter's medical bills. 'Helping Hand' is the wine they made to thank you for your generosity!
