Sharon Weeks Cattoo Central Coast Pinot Noir 2019
About the wine
Elegant, easy-sipping Pinot with silky smoothness for days
- This juicy, smooth red gushes with ripe red berry flavors of black cherry and deep dark plum that glide into a big, toasty finish.
- Your support gave Sharon first dibs on exquisite, perfectly ripened Pinot Noir harvested from lush Monterey County vineyards, which she masterfully blended to lip-smacking Pinot perfection. Your funding even allowed her to age the wine for 9 months in new French Oak barrels for an extra dash of elegance.
- Thanks to you, Sharon’s Cattoo Pinot is the cat’s meow! Her only ask: for a Pinot this layered and complex, make sure you give it about an hour to breathe before diving in, so you get every decadent nuance of flavor.
Best before
It is approachable now with a good 60 minute decant prior to drinking, but will only get better with more time in the bottle. This will age well through 2026.
Serving advice
PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THIS WINE ON THE DAY THAT YOU RECEIVE IT. This is a young wine and I do recommend decanting this wine for 60 minutes prior to drinking to allow the flavors and aromatics to fully develop. This also helps soften the tannins and will give the wine a smoother taste. I also recommend letting all of your wines rest for a minimum of 2 weeks after receiving them to allow them to recover from the shipping. The shipping really does impact the aromatics and flavors of the wine and does make a difference on how much you will enjoy your wines.
Food match
Smoked salmon, pork, poultry, lamb chops, steak, and asparagus are all ideal pairings with a Pinot this lush and silky.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Sharon Weeks
- It started as a few odd jobs in the cellar, and turned into a winemaking gig. Over 30 years later, Sharon can't imagine ever wanting to do anything else.
- Sharon's responsible for making some seriously great wines for others – thousands over her 30-year career. But she's always disappointed after the wine's shipped off... all that hard work, and she never hears what becomes of it!
- Now that you've made her an independent winemaker, she loves sharing her big, enthusiastic winemaking style with Angels – and hearing what you think!
