Leigh Meyering's Story
With over 15 years of winemaking experience, Leigh blends a technical background with artistic creativity to make award winning wines. After working as an engineer in the semiconductor industry, she searched for a career that would combine science with a fun outlet for her creative spirit. She completed her Master's degree in winemaking (Enology) at UC Davis and travelled to Bordeaux, France where she worked as an intern. She has also worked at several other world renowned wineries including Spring Mountain Vineyard, Charles Krug, and MacRostie. With her extensive experience, she launched a successful consulting and analysis company, myEnologist, where she now makes wine for several clients. Tasting grapes and analyzing wines from across California, Leigh knows where to find great fruit for her projects. She is excited that Angel funding is giving her more creative freedom to make great wines at a price that everyone can afford. "It's fun to have the freedom to let the grapes lead me in the direction that best expresses them instead of trying to tailor wines to one individual's personal tastes." When she is not crafting or analyzing world class wines, Leigh is busy chasing after her two energetic children and brewing amazing beer.
