About the wine
Decadent, single-vineyard Sonoma Chardonnay, barrel-aged for pure creamy elegance
- Rich, creamy and overflowing with elegant tropical fruits and toasty oak, this is everything you want in a big, classic California Chardonnay and more!
- With the help of your funding, 8-time Winemaker of the Year Daryl Groom harvested his grapes from one of Sonoma’s most famed vineyards, then barrel-aged the wine in French oak for 16 months for an oh-so-creamy texture.
- High-end Sonoma Chardonnay from a world-famous winemaker like Daryl would easily go for over $45 a bottle anywhere else. But for supporting Daryl to make this elegant white exactly the way he wanted, it’s yours for a song!
Best before
Enjoy it now, as I have pre-aged it for you in barrels for a longer period of time. It will easily last 5 years or so, but after that expect the color to darken even more.
Serving advice
Serve this white chilled to around 55º F. It will be best enjoyed with food.
Food match
This Chardonnay goes wonderfully with any white meat based entrée, as well as seafood and creamy pastas. I love this wine with soft cheeses.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Daryl Groom
- Meet Daryl... a 35-year veteran of the wine biz, credited eight-times as Winemaker of the Year, named by Food & Wine Magazine as one of 11 visionaries to change the world of wine... and oh yes, he served up his wines at the Oscars and Emmys two years in a row! Safe to say, the man's accomplished.
- Working as the senior white and red winemaker at Penfolds, his 1986 Penfolds Grange was arguably one of the top 3 Granges ever made - 98 points from Spectator and Robert Parker. And now that he works for you, he loves showing off wines from Australia and his California home – Sonoma and Russian River Valley.
- Thanks to your funding, Daryl can focus on doing what he loves – making great wine and sharing great wine. And he selects the best barrels he needs and farms to the best quality. "You are a gift from God to a winemaker," he says. "I knew there were Angels in heaven!"
–– "Groom made Penfolds' flagship red, Grange Hermitage, which has become Australia's most collectible wine." --Wine Spectator, on the $500+ Grange
–– "Groom is my choice for Winemaker of the Year " -- LA Times, Dan Berger
–– "Daryl Groom. The human Tornado. " -- Bill Rice, Chicago Tribune
