Steve Rasmussen Sangiovese El Pomar District 2013
About the wine
Italian grape in California's wild, wild west
- A classic Italian grape variety grown in the rugged, wild terrain around Paso Robles – it's our very own Spaghetti Western!
- Steve's an experienced industry veteran who has learned how to work with all sorts of exotic fruit in California's Central Coast. He was an early pioneer and a founding member of Talley Vineyards and has led the charge in Paso ever since.
- This is a fantastically versatile food wine that won't overpower your meal but has the grit to pair with everything from smokey grilled meat to creamy chicken pasta.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Steve Rasmussen
- After cutting his teeth at biiiig wineries like Inglenook and Corbett Canyon, Steve specialized in warmer climate wines in Argentina and Southern California. He still consults at several top notch wineries in Argentina and makes wine for British rock band Foghat.
- Steve's excited to work with Angel funding because it's a new opportunity to make small-volume, high-quality wines exactly the way he wants to make them.
- If you like that warm, rich Mediterranean style then Steve is going to knock you off your feet.
